What can I do to help the environment on a personal level at home and at work?
Whilst environmental sustainability sits heavily at the global level, we as individuals can all contribute to the improvement of our environmental footprint. Some simple sets include:
- Walk, cycle or other, rather than driving as much as possible
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Say no to plastics – minimise the use of non-recyclable plastics
- Opt for a keep-cup for our daily take away coffee
- Consider turning off electrical appliances, lights etc when not in use
- Compost your food wastes rather than sending to landfill
- At work, check that you really need to print that document
- If you have an office, or you’re the last to leave, ensure the lights are turned off when leaving
