How do I know when it is safe to proceed, or if something is safe or not?
What if I don’t feel safe at work?
First you need to identify in what way you do not feel safe – for example, is your concern coming from a health and safety perspective, i.e. you are concerned you might get hurt or injured at work; or from a security perspective? Or other?
What to do if I don’t feel safe at work
If you are feeling unsafe at work then the first thing you should do is, remove yourself, or others from harm; then discuss this with someone. Depending on where your concerns lie, this might be your manager, a trusted colleague, your health and safety representative, someone from Culture and Performance or from the HSE team.
Safety is everyone’s responsibility
At Aspen Medical, safety is everyone’s responsibility. This video discusses the concept.
Your HSE Manager can also provide advice if you require support.
